College football recruiting coverage is back to normal after the public took in the #1 recruit in the Class of 2023, Arch Manning, committing to Texas on June 23. There are few unknowns left in the top 50 of 247 Sports’ player rankings for next year’s incoming class. At this point, the Michigan Wolverines have been fairly quiet with the upcoming high school class. Let’s see who has signed on as the summer is now officially underway:
Michigan Commits
Of the eight high schoolers that have committed to Michigan, two are four-star players and the other six have been tagged with three-star ratings. Five of these Wolverines are considered offensive players, two play defense and the last is the second-ranked kicker in the class.
Cole Cabana, RB – Dexter, MI – ****

Cabana is a very talented running back. At 6′ and 180 lbs, he will certainly need to bulk up, which should be no problem with a college training regement and nutritionist. Cabana’s game is balanced and his junior year highlight tape and statistics show why UMich was so intersted in him. Cabana is not at all shy with defenders and encourages them to come right at him, where he will then bump off and maintain his speed. In only nine games this past season, Cabana racked up over 2,100 all-purpose yards and 28 touchdowns.
Deakon Tonielli, TE – Oswego, IL – ****
On offense, Tonielli can do it all. Beat press coverage, block, throw the ball 20+ yards under pressure, you name it. Listed at 6’5″, 200 lbs, Tonielli will certainly profile more as a tight end when he makes his way to Ann Arbor but that is no knock on his pass catching skills. Line him up anywhere on the line and he will create problems because he is too big to be covered by a safety while being too fast for opposing linebackers.
Semaj Morgan, WR – West Bloomfield, MI – ***

Morgan emabarssed opposing secondaries for all of his junior season with his blazing speed. With 14 touchdowns between kick returns and receiving, Morgan surely earned his First Team All-State recognition and will head to Michigan after another year of development at West Bloomfield High School, alma mater of current New England Patriot linebacker, Matthew Judon.
Fredrick Moore, WR – Saint Louis, MO – ***
Moore is about as dependable as you could wish to have at wideout. 12 of his 41 receptions as a junior went for touchdowns and Moore also added three touchdowns. Moore’s speed is a gamechanger, just like another former Cardinal Ritter alumni, Jameson Williams. Moore may only be 6′ tall, but he plays much taller and has a vertical that can cause trouble for any DB attempting to make a play on the ball.
Benjamin Hall, RB – Kennesaw, GA – ***

Hall is an exceptionally strong runner combined with plus speed and good ball skills. If I could describe the way he runs, it would be angry. Hall moves quick and forces his opponents to make plays on him that he is already prepared to counter. In the redzone, Hall is at his best since it is noticably hard to take him down.
Semaj Bridgeman, LB – Philadelphia, PA – ****
Bridgeman is the type of tackler every team in the nation wants to add come every recruting class. Off the line, Bridgeman is simply a better athlete than any lineman trying to stop him. He uses his long legs to gain a step and burst through the offensive line. He can even get the first step when used as a blocker on the offensive side of the ball when he played tight end. The most impressive part of Bridgeman’s game is how he uses his long arms to make opposing quarterbacks and running backs work harder. He gets to the ball handler quickly and forces them into a move before they would like to.
Brooks Bahr, DL – Wilmette, IL – ***
https://twitter.com/Rivals/status/1503841456280199171
Bahr is an interesting D-Line prospect for Michigan. Bahr plays bully-ball and his best move comes from a combiantion of speed and strength. Most of his highlights come from Bahr gaining a step or two on his opposing lineman and pushing them into the turf. He plays with his arms high which will throw offensive lineman offguard or force them to commit penalties, both of which benefit Bahr and his team.
Adam Samaha, K – Ann Arbor, MI – ***
The Ann Arbor native Samaha commited to Michigan back in 2021. It is clear why the Wolverines were intrigued by him. Samaha has a strong left leg and has consistently drilled 45+ yard attempts. Additionally, he is able to easily send the ball into the opposite endzone for touchbacks.
