The UCLA Bruins are preparing for their move to the Big Ten in 2024. Head coach Chip Kelly has steadily improved the program and is now looking to compete in one of the best conferences in the country. They got a huge boost when former Miami Hurricanes edge rusher Collins Acheampong announced he has committed to the program.

UCLA Bruins Land Edge Rusher Collins Acheampong
It didn’t take long for the 6-foot-8, 270-pound edge to find a new home. He entered the portal on Monday and has already landed with the Bruins. The coaching staff apparently already had made an impression and it stuck. Acheampong had this to say about his decision.
“They were the first school to ever notice me a whole year before I got any other offer. I had a great relationship throughout that time and got to know them. I get to be closer to family and friends as well and also play for one of the best Dline coaches. No better feeling like going back home.”
2024 Outlook
The Bruins have some tough matchups on their 2024 schedule. In their non-conference slate, they head to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers. In the Big Ten, they will play Oregon, Penn State, Washington, and USC. The good news for the Bruins is that they are familiar with most of those opponents as they had to play them in the Pac-12. The Nittany Lions and possibly the Nebraska Cornhuskers are the newer opponents that could give them the most trouble in 2024.
Can Chip Kelly keep improving the UCLA Bruins? He has shown that he can get a team to the top of the college football world. Now he just has to do it with this team.
