Dallas Cowboys rookie Tyler Booker, despite being new to the team, is already exhibiting leadership qualities, as revealed by one of his teammates.
In a recent interview, Cowboys running back Jaydon Blue opened up about his first impression of rookie Tyler Booker. According to Blue, Booker is shaping up to be a leader early on in his tenure with the team.
“Great kid,” Blue said. “He’s ready to learn, and he’s a great football player,” Blue said. “He’s been leading us since we’ve been here. So, it’s an honor to be able to share the room with him.”
Tyler Booker was selected 12th overall by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, making him the first Alabama player taken in this year’s draft. Booker, a 6’5″, 321-pound offensive lineman, was a standout at Alabama, earning First-Team All-American honors and serving as a team captain.
His ability to dominate in the trenches, combined with his leadership qualities, made him a highly sought-after prospect. Throughout his college career, Booker showcased his versatility, playing at both left and right guard, and was praised for his strong blocking, football intelligence, and toughness.

Cowboys Rookie Tyler Booker Shares One Success Tip
Dallas Cowboys’ rookie Tyler Booker is determined to prove he deserves a starting role as the team’s right guard. While many expect him to seamlessly take over Zack Martin’s spot, Booker is taking nothing for granted, focusing on mastering his playbook and technique.
“Just making sure you know everything that you’re supposed to in the playbook, having a mastery of the playbook, and also making sure that your technique is really good,” Booker said. “This is something I learned at the O-line Masterminds that my coach, Duke [Manyweather], put on.”

Booker emphasized the importance of walkthroughs during rookie minicamp, ensuring he maximizes his preparation.
“Just listening to him and all the other NFL legends, they talk about how you have to take advantage of walkthroughs and even though you’re not able to make contact a lot, you have to take advantage of—you have to make sure you’re overexaggerating your technique so when the bullets are flying you’re ready to go,” he explained.
