Ohio State has one of the best groups of fans in all of college football, and of course, they can be very annoying at times; they walk around saying THE Ohio State like they invented the word, but you can’t question their passion, and one media analyst doesn’t think they have much passion at all because he ranked them as the least passionate fanbase in all of college football.
Ohio State Is The Least Passionate Fanbase

Tom Fornelli from CBS Sports released his list of college football’s least passionate fan bases on social media, and the Buckeyes were number one. There is no reason to have Ohio State rated as the least passionate fan base because they are not.

Are Ohio State fans the most passionate fans in the sport? No, but they are in the Top 25. You can argue almost every single SEC team fanbase has more passion than Ohio State fans.
What hurts Buckeye fans is they are fans of a great team and are expected to win every game; when a team like Maryland comes to town, the fans are not excited about it. I have been to games when lower Big Ten teams come, and it’s a ghost town, and nobody cares.

When a big-time game is being played, the entire city shutdowns down, and it is a party. The Ohio State vs. Michigan game in 2022 was an experience. It was more than a game; the stadium could have been louder sometimes, and when Ohio State lost, the fans didn’t seem to care. They just went back to their tailgates, so they needed to work on showing some emotion when their team loses, but you can’t question they do love their team.

Ohio State is probably in the middle of the pack regarding passionate fans, but ranking them the lowest is inaccurate. There are teams like Rutgers and Vanderbilt out there, and they should be first and second on that list.
