New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has been mentioned in trade rumors this offseason and the Los Angeles Rams could be looking for an apparent heir to Matthew Stafford. On Wednesday night, FanDuel suggested a Mock Trade on its Twitter page.
It thinks that the Patriots should trade quarterback Mac Jones to the Los Angeles Rams for a 2024 fifth-round selection.

Jones will be under contract for the 2024 season for the New England Patriots and the fifth-year option has yet to be picked up. He was the 15th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Alabama. Mac Jones was benched several times last season for Bailey Zappe.
Bill Belichick is no longer the head coach of the Patriots and Jarod Mayo is. New England owns the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and they are looking to use that selection on a quarterback.
Jones last season completed 64.9% of his passes for 2,120 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He has regressed every year in the NFL and might need a change of scenery.
The Los Angeles Rams Trading for Mac Jones Would Be a Good Thing For His Career
If the Patriots were to trade Mac Jones at some point this offseason, it might be the best thing for him. The Rams would be a good place for him to go because he would be able to back up quarterback Matthew Stafford and also learn from a great offensive mind in head coach Sean McVay.
McVay is a quarterback whisper and he has worked great with also Jared Goff and Baker Mayfield. Stafford is 36 years old and has a couple of years remaining on his contract with the Rams. Also having Jones on the roster would be good because he would be a serviceable backup quarterback because Matthew Stafford is injury-prone.
Carson Wentz was the backup quarterback toward the end of last season for the Rams. Jones’s name will continue to be floated around in trade rumors leading up to the NFL Draft also.
