Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, looked visibly crushed in a now-viral video as he sits on the bench during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Chiefs took a nasty loss in Super Bowl LIX which they were very confident of winning.
The Kansas City Chiefs were defeated with a devastating 40-22 final score, as the Eagles swept past them right from the first quarter. By halftime, the Chiefs failed to put up even a single score for the team. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes went for 257 yards in that game, completing 21 passes out of 32 attempts, scoring three touchdowns, while managing a pair of interceptions. Mahomes also led the team on the ground with four carries for 25 yards.
On defense, Xavier Worthy managed eight receptions for 157 yards, scoring two touchdowns for the team. Travis Kelce himself also recorded only four receptions for the team for 39 yards in a very sluggish performance.
Travis Kelce has been playing for the Kansas City Chiefs after being selected by the team as the 63rd pick in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. In the most recently concluded NFL season, Kelce managed a total of 97 receptions for 823 yards, scoring thrice.
Travis Kelce Has Plenty Of Football Left As Per Patrick Mahomes
Meanwhile, after Kansas City’s recent loss against the Philadelphia Eagles during Super Bowl LIX, rumors have been going around that tight end Travis Kelce might soon retire from the game. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked by reporters about this during the postgame press conference.
Mahomes did not give a specific and solid answer and remarked that he would let Kelce make that decision on his own. Mahomes also went on to say that Kelce definitely has plenty of football left in him and that he “always makes plays in the biggest moments.”
Travis Kelce was definitely confident that he and the rest of the Chiefs would win the Super Bowl LIX. In fact, in an episode of the ‘New Heights’ podcast that he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce went on to admit that he loves being painted as a ‘villain’ in the NFL, along with the rest of the Chiefs.
After the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis Kelce was definitely crushed and did not look like his old self. NFL fans were also quick to note that Kelce and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, did not share their on-field kiss as usual after the game ended.
