Travis Kelce’s Girlfriend Taylor Swift Makes Official Presidential Endorsement

Along with the start of the NFL season comes increased focus on the relationship between Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Now, that focus and potential distraction will be amplified as Taylor Swift officially makes a presidential endorsement. The Kelce/Swift controversy that provided surface-level annoyance to many football fans will now be embroiled in politics and therefore increased hostility.

After the presidential debate between former president Donald Trump and current vice president Kamala Harris took place Tuesday, Swift officially endorsed Harris for president.

Swift made a long social media post explaining her decision to officially endorse Harris as the first woman president in the history of the United States.

In the post, Swift addresses a falsified AI rendering of her endorsing Trump. She also said that Harris’ willingness to fight for LGBTQ+ rights and women’s rights played a large role in her decision to make the endorsement.

The endorsement gave way to a litany of mixed responses, but many fans were not shocked to see Swift support Harris. Especially after she was seen in a different suite than Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany Mahomes in the week one matchup with the Baltimore Ravens.

Brittany Mahomes expressed her support of Trump in the week leading up to the game and many fans speculated that Swift avoided her during the game because of her political leanings.

Regardless of the lack of surprise, Swift’s support of Harris resulted in quite a response on social media.

If people vote based on her endorsement they shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Not saying her endorsement is wrong or right but if you’re a fan of hers it shouldn’t influence which candidate you believe is best. You as a person need to make that judgement and independent decision.
