“Not My Thing;” Former Travis Kelce Kansas City Chiefs Teammate Reveals the Taylor Swift Question That Is Off Limits

It has been a rather quiet offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs. Unlike last season when there was buzz about them possibly becoming the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowl titles, now their focus is on starting a new streak after falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

Similarly, Chiefs 1o-time Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce has toned down his public appearances this year compared to last offseason. In 2024, Kelce was frequently seen in public as he spent time with his internationally famous girlfriend, 14-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift, as she traveled the globe on her Eras Tour.

And while Kelce still does his “New Heights” podcast with brother Jason Kelce, and while he has made sporadic public appearances, he has not been seen in public with Swift for quite a while. Their lack of appearances together has fueled speculation that there is trouble in paradise.

Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Are Still Going Strong

Despite the rumors of a potential and upcoming breakup, sources close to Swift and Kelce have maintained that the couple is still going strong. Their lack of public appearances together is not the result of a disagreement or anything of that nature. Rather, they simply want to spend time together out of the public eye.

This makes sense as Kelce, who was mulling retirement leading up to Super Bowl LIX, has renewed motivation to play another season, not wanting his last time on a football field to be such an embarrassing loss.

Indeed, the future Hall of Famer’s 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 2024 were the fewest of his long and storied career. He believes that if he comes into the 2025 season with renewed focus and in better shape, he can help the Chiefs return to the Super Bowl and, this time, win it.

Former Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith Reveals the One Taylor Swift Question He Would Never Ask Travis Kelce

Of course, Kansas City’s recent run of dominance has come with Kelce being the prime receiving target of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, arguably one of the greatest throwers of the football in NFL history. But before Mahomes took over as the starter in 2018, Kelce was catching passes from Alex Smith, himself a former Pro Bowler.

And while Smith has been retired from the NFL for years, he still maintains a good relationship with his former teammate. That being said, Smith recently revealed there is one question he would never ever ask Kelce as it pertains to Swift.

Rich Eisen recently asked Smith if his relationship with Kelce was close enough that he could ask for tickets to one of Swift’s concerts. The former quarterback replied, “I haven’t hit him up on that. Nor do I ever expect to. He’s got enough people, I’m sure, bringing that up to him.”

When reminded that Greg Olson once hit Kelce up for tickets to a concert, Smith replied, “Again, these are special relationships. And to go ask for a handout…from his girlfriend? It’s just not my thing.”
