Is Colston Loveland the lone Tight End atop the mountain as the best TE in the 2025 NFL Draft?
With no Brock Bowers to flood the headlines, the 2025 NFL Draft’s tight end class is more of the usual cast of characters. High upside guys like Mason Taylor and Oscar Delp, consistent weapons like Mitchell Evans, and perhaps the best of both worlds in Colston Loveland, it’s anybody’s race to be the first tight end off the board when the 2025 NFL Draft rolls around.
2025 NFL Draft Pre-Season Tight End Rankings
- Colston Loveland (Michigan) — Size, speed, and football IQ…Colston Loveland has it all. Undoubtedly Michigan’s number one receiving option on the Wolverines’ 2023 National Championship winning run, Colston Loveland separated himself from the pack of talented tight ends heading into the 2024 season.
- Mason Taylor (LSU) — Mason Taylor comes from football heritage. Son of Miami Dolphins legend and NFL Hall of Famer, Jason Taylor and nephew of fellow Dolphins and NFL Hall of Famer, Zach Thomas, it was impossible for Mason Taylor not to be a freak athlete. With 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, Jayden Daniels opting for more of an outside passing style, which left Taylor a bit in the dark, 2024 could be a massive year for Taylor, who has all the talent in the world.
- Oscar Delp (Georgia) — Following in Brock Bowers’ footsteps, Oscar Delp has some massive shoes to fill. Not nearly as NFL-ready as the first-round pick, Bowers, Delp may need some time to adjust to life in the NFL, even after a full-year as one of Carson Beck’s top targets, but the sky is the ceiling.
- Mitchell Evans (Notre Dame) — Perhaps the most NFL-ready tight end of anybody in the group, Mitchell Evans could very well be Riley Leonard’s top weapon heading into the 2024 season. As solid a prospect as they come, Evans won’t necessarily wow you with explosive plays, but it doesn’t get much more consistent than the Notre Dame product.
- Luke Lachey (Iowa) — Iowa’s Luke Lachey is a mammoth of a human being. In an otherwise anemic Hawkeyes offense, Luke Lachey is the lone light. While he likely won’t stuff the state sheet playing in Iowa’s offense, the pure athletic ceiling makes Lachey as an exciting of a prospect as anyone at the TE position.
- Caden Prieskorn (Ole Miss)
- Jake Briningstool (Clemson)
- Bryson Nesbit (North Carolina)
- Tyler Warren (Penn State)
- Ben Yurosek (Georgia)
