Very few people, if any, will argue that Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback to ever pick up a football. He made a massive impact on the sport throughout his iconic 23-year career. Needless to say, a lot of young (and not-so-young) kids out there want to be just like TB. Well, as it turns out, at least one of Tom’s own kids just isn’t in the same boat.
Tom Brady’s Son Wants to Be Like Rob Gronkowski
The seven-time Super Bowl champion himself recently revealed that his second son, Benjamin Rein Brady, has now decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. In a totally unexpected turn of events, however, Ben apparently does not want to play quarterback. As it turns out, the 13-year-old wants to replicate the career of one of TB’s most memorable teammates — Rob Gronkowski:
“He wants to be a tight end like Gronk, and he’s gonna be a little beast,” Brady said (h/t JPAFootball on Twitter.)

That’s pretty funny. You would think that of all people, Brady’s own kid would want to follow in his footsteps and perhaps carry on the quarterback legacy. Well, this just isn’t the case for Ben, who appears to have spent a lot of time with Uncle Rob.
Be that as it may, Brady isn’t at all bothered by his son’s decision. The 46-year-old intends to support whatever path his children intend to take — even if it’s not football.
It Runs in the Family
For what it’s worth, at least one of Tom’s kids appears to be taking the same path as their father. John Edward Thomas Moynahan, who Brady shares with Hollywood star ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, is Tom’s eldest child, and he is currently playing as a quarterback and a safety as a freshman in high school.
It’s currently too early to tell if Jack will be able to follow in his dad’s footsteps (we’re not even sure if anybody can), but you can be sure that there’s going to be a lot of pressure on the 16-year-old. One of the downsides of being Tom Brady’s son is that he will be living under a very big shadow throughout his life.
