It has been a happy and sad past few days for Ohio State fans. Almost two weeks ago, the Buckeyes won their ninth title in school history, and six days later, their defensive coordinator, Jim Knowles, left to take the same position at Penn State.
Ohio State still needs to hire a new defensive coordinator, and after Justin Frye left for the Arizona Cardinals, it will also be looking for a new offensive line coach.
The Buckeyes will look much different this upcoming season than last year’s team, with essential members of the coaching staff and players leaving. Still, the most important one said goodbye to Ohio State on Friday night.
Ohio State’s Will Howard Says Goodbye
Quarterback Will Howard posted a 1.44-second video on X with the caption, “Thank You, Ohio State. For everything.”

Howard came to Columbus this past offseason after spending four seasons at Kansas State. The 23-year-old quarterback quickly became one of the best in the country this season and put up the most impressive playoff run from any college quarterback.
The fifth-year starting quarterback will now look to be playing on Sundays as he declared for the NFL Draft. Howard was supposed to be in Mobile, Alabama, for the Senior Bowl this past week but decided to pull his name out since the playoff run took a lot out of him.
Howard is expected to go somewhere on Day three of the draft, and hopefully, he lands in a great position that can develop him into a starter.
