The Texas Longhorns are busy preparing for their College Football Playoff matchup with the Washington Huskies. After many years of not being relevant, Texas finally is one of the top programs in the country. However, no one is immune to the transfer portal. They have lost a couple of players today and another promising recruit is heading out as well. Former four-star safety Larry Turner-Gooden is heading to the transfer portal.

Texas Longhorns S Larry Turner-Gooden Enters Transfer Portal
Turner-Gooden was a highly recruited safety out of California. He had over 30 offers but decided to come to Texas. The safety has three years of eligibility remaining. He had this to say in a statement to On3.
“I would like to start off by thanking God, Coach Sarkisian, Coach Gideon and the entire staff for believing in me and giving me a chance. Being a Longhorn will be something that I forever cherish. One of the many things I am grateful for is the culture that was created while I was here and the lifelong friendships I have gained from this experience. This journey is far from over and is in God’s hands. With that being said, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal.”
Move To The SEC
Texas is peaking at the right time. A move to the SEC means that there will be many big games. For the Longhorns, they also have a date with the Michigan Wolverines in 2024. Head coach Steve Sarkisian has the team playing well and hopefully will be able to sustain the success. Having players leave is concerning but in the current college football landscape, it is bound to happen on some level.
Can Texas win a championship this year? They are two games away from being on top of the college football world yet again.
