The Texas Longhorns faced the Ohio State Buckeyes in the college football playoff semifinals on Friday night. With Texas trailing Ohio State 21-14 in the fourth quarter, Quinn Ewers was sacked on a fourth-down play and lost the football and Jack Sawyer returned it for a touchdown to give the Buckeyes the 28-14 win over the Longhorns.

With Texas losing the game, the Quinn Ewers era is most likely over and the Arch Manning era can begin. Ewers on Friday completed 23-of-39 passes for 283 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

After the loss on Friday night, some Longhorns fans felt relieved that the season was over because they knew that the Arch Manning era was about to begin. Quinn Ewers is either going to leave for the NFL and declare for the draft or transfer to another school.

Many Longhorns fans were not happy that Arch Manning did not play more and a lot of fans felt that head coach Steve Sarkisian was responsible for the quarterback debacle this season. Here is what Texas fans had to say about the Quinn Ewers era coming to an end:

The Arch Manning era at Texas has OFFICIALLY begun.

Manning is reportedly the “QB1” going forward, no matter what Quinn Ewers decides to do.

Many NFL scouts reportedly believe that Arch is going to be the “next great” Manning.

Some Longhorns fans feel that if Manning played more against the Buckeyes they would be preparing to face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the National Championship Game next week. Texas has not won it all since 2005, but getting back to the semifinals in back-to-back seasons is a good first step for this Longhorns football program.

The Texas Longhorns and Arch Manning will start the 2025 season against the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio at Buckeye Stadium. Texas has a chance to be very good once again next year and make the college football playoffs.

A lot of Longhorns fans are excited for next what Manning can do next. There is a chance that some people believe that Manning could lead Texas to a National Title also.
