The Texas A&M Aggies are looking to take that next step as a program as they were able to be a significant threat before losing their final three games to drop to 8-5 last season. With the Southeastern Conference being full of top teams, the program is going to be in a position where a similar season with a different ending may have them in the College Football Playoff.

The schedule for the Aggies looks to be a bit difficult, but one college football analyst is marking down one game as the make-or-break situation between the program competing for a national championship and falling out of the College Football Playoff picture entirely.

Dan Crain, a host of the “Crain and Company” podcast, believes the 2025 Texas A&M Aggies season hinges on the result of their game in Week 3 against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

“That Notre Dame game to me is the one that could ultimately be the decider. If you do go on the road and beat Notre Dame, that obviously makes that 10-win mark more achievable. But if Notre Dame does what we think they’re going to do… that 9-3 mark with a win on the road in South Bend… could get you into the College Football Playoff.”

Below is the full video from the show where they discuss the Texas A&M program heading into the 2025 season.

The 2025 Texas A&M Aggies schedule is going to be tough in a loaded SEC and below is the full regular season schedule.

    • 8/30: vs. UTSA Roadrunners
    • 9/6: vs. Utah State Aggies
    • 9/13: at Notre Dame Fighting Irish
    • 9/27: vs. Auburn Tigers
    • 10/4: vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs
    • 10/11: vs. Florida Gators
    • 10/18: at Arkansas Razorbacks
    • 10/25: at LSU Tigers
    • 11/8: at Missouri Tigers
    • 11/15: vs. South Carolina Gamecocks
    • 11/22: vs. Samford Bulldogs
    • 11/28: at Texas Longhorns

With a strong offense led by quarterback Marcel Reed and running back Le’Veon Moss, this Aggies program could do some big things. It will be interesting how they look against the Fighting Irish in the third game of the season before opening up their conference schedule as a strong victory if they can win on the road.
