The Miami Dolphins have lost two key players in the trenches from the 2024 season this week.
Earlier this week, defensive lineman Calais Campbell was considering retiring or joining the Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, or Arizona Cardinals for 2025.
On Tuesday, Campbell agreed to a one-year contract with the Cardinals, the team that drafted him in the second round of the 2008 draft. The upcoming season will be Campbell’s 18th in the league.
The Dolphins lost another veteran on Saturday, this time to retirement.

Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, left tackle Terron Armstead is retiring after 12 seasons in the league as he transitions to music full-time.
“Dolphins five-time Pro Bowl LT Terron Armstead is retiring, officially ending a star-studded 12-year career. Armstead was one of the best left tackles of his generation beginning with his stint with the Saints,” posted Rapoport on X. “Now, he heads into his second career”

Terron Armstead had a decorated career

The New Orleans Saints drafted Armstead in the third round of the 2013 draft. He played in New Orleans through 2021. He spent his final three seasons in the league playing for the Dolphins.
Armstead earned first-team All-SWAC three times during his college career at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The native of Cahokia, Illinois played in NFL 135 games and started in 131. He made five Pro Bowl appearances and earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2018.

“Very impressive career! Most guys don’t get lucky enough to have a long career like that,” wrote a fan.
“His impact on the game is undeniable. Now, onto his second career—wishing him all the best in whatever comes next,” posted another.
“Good luck in his future endeavors,” commented a fan.
