Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have a couple of rules they need to follow every single Kansas City Chiefs game. While Taylor is one of the biggest superstars on the planet, she has to follow a couple of rules on gameday the same way the rest of the players’ girlfriends and wives do.
3 Rules That Must Be Followed On Gameday
The Chiefs organization has some very strict rules for gameday, and they have to be followed by all the players’ companions with no exceptions.
Mecole Hardman’s fiancée Chariah Gordon, recently spoke to PEOPLE about all of the rules that must be followed on gameday, and the team has these rules in place for the entire season. She mentioned 3 rules specifically that apply to Kelce and Swift, and some of them are a bit intense.
The first rule is about the team’s curfew. All of the players on the Chiefs have a very strict 11 p.m. curfew for the night before the game, and if any player stays out past curfew, including Kelce, they face fines or even more severe punishments. The collective bargaining agreement for the NFL players has a strict curfew:
“Any material curfew violation the night prior to the Club’s game may be considered conduct detrimental to the Club upon player’s first offense.”
So the superstar couple cannot be getting up to anything crazy the night before games, but that is just the start. The second major rule is that players and their partners cannot stay in the same hotel room, and must sleep in separate rooms. Gordon revealed this in a comedic fashion saying:
“Ain’t no staying in no same room.”
The Chiefs are apparently very strict about this rule before gameday. That makes sense as they need their players to be very well-rested before gameday, but it sounds rather comedic to force grown adults, and superstar athletes to abide by these rules.
The last rule that both of them have to follow is that the girlfriends and wives of the Chiefs players are not allowed to be on the plane after away games to go back with the team. This is not a rule for every team, and Chuefs safety Bryan Cook’s wife, Jayla Thornton-Cook, opened up about this recently:
“They leave by themselves,” she said. “You’re more than welcome to go to a game and you can see them after, and then they’re getting right back on the flight and they’re coming right back home that night.”
These rules are not too hard to follow, and Taylor can always use her own planes to get around, so that rule has less of an effect on her. So far this season, the superstar couple has not broken any of the rules and that should not change any time soon.
This may be Travis’ last year in the NFL, so it would make sense that he would be very careful about doing everything right before he decides to call it a career.
As for Taylor, she has not stated if she will be at the teams’ next game, although they could use her luck in attendance after dropping their first loss of the season.
