Tampa Bay Buccaneers land a quarterback in free agency
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had an elite quarterback for the previous three seasons with Tom Brady. After Brady retired this offseason, the Buccaneers are set to have the most exciting quarterback battle in the offseason to determine who Brady’s replacement is this fall.
The Buccaneers were set to have 2021 second-round draft pick Kyle Trask compete for the starting spot. On Wednesday, reports came out that a former number one overall draft pick would be fighting for Brady’s former spot in training camp.
According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the Buccaneers are completing a contract for Baker Mayfield. Mayfield was drafted by the Cleveland Browns but was traded to the Carolina Panthers last offseason. He ended up finishing last season on a hot streak with the Los Angeles Rams after struggling with the Panthers.

Mayfield was considered one of the few veteran quarterbacks targets the Buccaneers could land at quarterback this offseason.
