The Tampa Bay Buccaneers became one of the NFL’s best feel-good stories of the season after Baker Mayfield helped them to a strong finish in the NFC playoffs, bowing out to the equally mesmerizing Detroit Lions.
However, Baker’s resurgence at the Raymond James Stadium isn’t the only good thing that emerged out of this team this season. The blossoming of a friendship between a quarterback and one of his offensive linemen is always something that NFL fans love to see.
This time, the stars of this bromance are Baker Mayfield and Tristan Wirfs.

The moment the two were named to the Pro Bowl squad, they both understood that it was a great time for them to bond and relax. They took the opportunity to let everyone know how much they love hanging around each other.

Mayfield’s blindside protector first discussed what they have been up to.
“Just hanging out a lot,” Wirfs said. “Eating a lot of food, drinking a few beers. It’s just nice, being able to hang out with him and hang out outside of football.”
In the same interview, he was interrupted by his quarterback who came over to say what’s up.
He also added how much it means to be doing these things with his quarterback.
“I think it’s huge being able to be here together just having a good time, messing around,” Wirfs added. “Being here with all these amazing players, I think it’s awesome.”
Their great off-field relationship had a hand in the best season the Oklahoma product has had in his career. Through 17 regular-season games, he passed for 4044 yards and 28 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Wirfs if heading to his third-straight Pro Bowl after keeping his QB safe in the trenches.
While the jury is still out on whether Baker Mayfield will be staying with the Buccaneers, Wirfs and the rest of the organization will be hoping that he does. If they manage to keep him, they’re in for another fun season together.
