Super Bowl 59 was an absolute blow out on the field. The Philadelphia Eagles dismantled the Kansas City Chiefs from the get-go and soared to a 40-22 victory. Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show was one of the most entertaining shows of recent memory.
Tennis legend Serena Williams even made an appearance. However, it was quickly assumed why.
Super Bowl Halftime Show: Serena Williams Makes Announcement About “Drake Diss” At

As part of Kendrick Lamar’s record-setting Super Bowl 59 halftime show, tennis superstar Serena Williams appeared. A curious aspect of the show was Serena’s relationship with Lamar’s longtime nemesis Drake – who she used to be involved with:
Lamar took a few thinly-veiled shots at his rap rival during the show just with his lyrics. Many assumed that Serena was there to further embarrass the man she dated in 2011.
But in an interview with TIME, Serena flatly denied that there was any effort to take a dig at Drake with her appearance there.
“Absolutely not. I would never do that,” Williams said. “And that was sad, that anyone would ever think that. I respect how they could. Obviously I can see how someone would think that. But absolutely not.
“I have never had negative feelings towards him. We’ve known him for so many years.”

But while Williams may not have felt that her appearance on the show was a dig at Drake, fans certainly did. And for all we know, Kendrick Lamar wanted her on the stage just to rib Drake some more with her presence.
Williams has admitted that she isn’t even sure if her appearance in the show was the right decision anymore:
“I don’t know if I regret it or not,” she said. “I don’t know the answer to that.”
We may never know the real truth behind Williams’ appearance and what the intentions behind it were. But the moment may never be forgotten.

Fans immediately reacted to this:
Got clowned for it and started backpedaling 2 months later.
