Stefon Diggs sent an interesting goodbye to the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday night following his trade to the Houston Texans. The Bills are eating $31 million in dead cap space and sending Diggs, a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick, to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick.
The Buffalo Bills said thanks after saying no thanks
The Bills sent a simple “thank you” message to the departing wide receiver. Diggs’ time in Buffalo was filled with reported and rumored drama between himself and other members of the Bills, including the coaching staff and quarterback Josh Allen.

Stefon Diggs: till we meet again
Diggs took to Instagram on Wednesday night to say goodbye to Buffalo. He gave the fans a warm goodbye and mentioned the Bills by name, but he did not mention any close relationships with Bills players or staff. Diggs also left the door open for a potential return to the Bills:
“I can’t begin to express the amount of love and respect I have for the city of Buffalo. Four of the best years of my life, the city welcomed me with open arms. I’m forever grateful for you all and the @buffalobills organization!
Something special was built over these years with some very special men, that will always have a place in my heart. Billsmafia, so many great memories created throughout the years. Those games were crazy because of you.
Sadly good things come to an end until we meet again”

Meet again?
Meet again? Diggs may mean to play against the Bills as a member of the Texans. Or maybe he thinks he could one day return toward the end of his career in Buffalo.
The latter doesn’t seem likely, given how committed the Bills were to trade Diggs this offseason.
Either way, Diggs calls his time with Buffalo a “good” thing.
Does the team agree?
Then again, Diggs could be referencing the end of Dr. Stangelove when Vera Lynn’s “We’ll Meet Again” plays as the nuclear bomb to end the world goes off.
