Despite the Chicago Bears’ loss to the Detroit Lions, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles was there to cheer for her husband Jonathan Owens in the Thanksgiving Day game.
Biles, wearing a Bears-themed jacket for the game, posed with the Bears safety for photos on the sidelines after the game.
The Olympian captured her experiences, including riding a plane to the game, and having some fun on the field, in her Instagram stories. She traveled with Torries Brown, who is currently dating Bears tight end Marcedes Lewis.
“OTW to Detroit for some Thanksgiving football,” Simone Biles captioned one of her stories.
She posted a story featuring a picture of herself doing makeup. “I’m just a girl,” her caption said.
Another story featured Biles posing with Brown for a picture after the game.
The Bears started terribly, giving up a 16-0 lead to the Lions in the first half. They managed to narrow the gap to 23-20 but they botched their last play, giving the win to Jared Goff’s squad.
Simone Biles shared her and husband Jonathan Owens’ Thanksgiving plans
In an interview with US Weekly on Wednesday, Simone Biles opened up about her Thanksgiving plans with her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens.
The seven-time Olympic gold medalist explained how she planned to fly to Michigan to cheer for her husband at the Ford Field against the Detroit Lions.
“I’ll fly up in the morning and fly right back, just so we can still spend Thanksgiving together,” Biles said. “Holidays are revolving around sports right now, especially in the football world with them sometimes playing.”
She added, “We’ll just have a chef come and cook. I think some of his teammates will come through and grab a plate, especially if they don’t have family in the area. It is a little bit more difficult, but it is kind of nice that we can just relax.”
Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens got engaged in 2022 and married last year. The couple is also looking to move to a new property in Houston and start a new chapter of their life together.
“At this point, we’ve waited so long for it to be built, we’ll just wait until after the [NFL] season to move in,” Biles said. “Right now, they’re doing all of the backyard stuff. Jonathan wanted a half-basketball court, a barbeque pit, all of the good stuff. We did put an in-ground trampoline and a pool. We should be closing fairly soon. I go in two weeks to check on it again to see where we are. But we’re literally almost there.”
