“We Ain’t Done”: Micah Parsons Reacts To Getting Thanksgiving MVP Award After Cowboys-Giants Matchup

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is full of confidence after their 27-20 Thanksgiving Day victory over their perennial rivals, the New York Giants, on Thursday. It was their second straight victory, picking a big one over another NFC East contender to improve their record this season to 5-7.

Following the victory, the linebacker posted a short but sweet message on X, showing his confidence in his team’s ability to make a late-season comeback.

“We ain’t done,” he posted.

Playing a major role in the Cowboys’ win, Parsons had three tackles, 1.5 sacks, four pass deflections, and six quarterback hurries, and he was named the Madden Thanksgiving MVP in the process.

The Cowboys are still not out of the playoffs just yet, as Parsons referenced in his X post. However, it will be quite tough for the team to secure a playoff spot with a 5-7 record. Even with their Thanksgiving win, the probability that the Cowboys will make the playoffs is still at 4%, per NFL.com.

Regardless, Micah Parsons’ confidence and optimism might just be what the team needs to psyche themselves up for better performances in their following games.

Dallas currently holds the 12th seed out of 16 in the NFC East; only the top eight make it to the playoffs. They are set to face the Cincinnati Bengals, the Carolina Panthers, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before playing against the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles one more time each.

Micah Parsons: “The Cowboys are coming”

In his postgame interview with Fox’s Erin Andrews before being awarded the Madden Thanksgiving MVP trophy, Micah Parsons spoke about believing that the Dallas Cowboys are capable of making it to the postseason.

“We know what we got. We know what we can do here,” Parsons said. “I believe we’re gonna turn it around and make a run.

The linebacker added, “There’s been a lot of trash talk out there, talking about, ‘What difference can we make? … I’m telling y’all right now, we’re coming.”

There has been no question that Micah Parsons is one of the best linebackers in the NFL. Since being drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the three-time All-Pro has been named to three Pro Bowls. He has recorded 47 sacks, 241 tackles, eight forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and nine pass deflections in his career.

If Parsons wants the Cowboys to stand any chance of making it to the playoffs, then he and his teammates have to perform significantly better in the final stretch of the season.
