Shedeur Sanders may make it to the New York Giants in his rookie season, or may not. If the team does not manage to snag Sanders, they still have great options in the draft, according to former Buffalo Bills quarterback, EJ Manuel.

In a recent episode of ‘Get Up’ on ESPN, Manuel was asked what the New York Giants should do if for some reason, Shedeur Sanders becomes unavailable. To this Manuel had an interesting, yet simple solution – get Jalen Milroe. Milroe played for the Alabama Crimson Tide, and will bloom in the team under the guidance of veterans like Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

“You don’t think that Shedeur will be there. So let’s live in a world where he’s not. Let’s live in a world where he’s long since off the board. If you’re the Giants and you have a mandate for whatever reason, to get a quarterback here. Which one are you coming up then to get? Is it Jaxson Dart? Is it Tyler Shough? Is it Jalen Milroe, which one do you want?” Mike Greenberg asked EJ Manuel on ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ on Wednesday.

“Give me Jalen Milroe, because of this situation. You got Russell Wilson there. Okay, you got Jameis Winston there. You got two veterans, right? So those guys are going to be on the roster. Maybe you trade one of them if they don’t play well in the preseason, something like that. But I like the intangibles that this kid brings.” EJ Manuel said about Jalen Milroe as a response to Mike Greenberg’s question.

Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders is expected to turn up in the first round of the NFL draft, and multiple teams have already set their eyes on the young quarterback. In his senior year for the Colorado Buffaloes, Sanders managed to throw for a total of 4,134 yards, scoring 37 touchdowns, while managing ten interceptions for the team.

Shedeur Sanders’ Alternative Is Very Fast On The Field According To EJ Manuel

If the New York Giants do not get Shedeur Sanders on their roster during the 2025 NFL draft, they should indeed listen to EJ Manuel’s advice and go for Jalen Milroe. Apart from the fact that Milroe will be a safe bet with the Giants already having two veterans in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, the Alabama product is also known to be quite fast on the field. This will be a major plus for the New York Giants, according to Manuel.

Manuel especially mentioned Milroe’s speed on the field. In this era of football, the quarterback is expected to get as far away as they can from defenders, and the young quarterback’s speed will be an added advantage to the Giants.
