Shedeur Sanders might end up playing for the New Orleans Saints in the 2025 NFL season if the team chooses to heed NFL analyst Mike Florio’s recent advice. On Sunday’s episode of Pro Football Talk on NBC, Florio advised the Saints to not make the same mistake they did during the 2017 NFL draft. At that time, the Saints were all set to grab Patrick Mahomes from the draft, but the Chiefs swooped in and picked him after taking the pick number before New Orleans.
In this 2025 NFL season, the New Orleans Saints are definitely desperate for a fresh quarterback like Shedeur Sanders, especially after Derek Carr will probably sit out the year after a shoulder injury. While they are truly desperate, it does not look like the team has taken up any drastic measures to ensure that they bring Sanders to their fold.
“If they’re locked in on Shedeur Sanders, having Carr injured makes it even more obvious, which invites someone to cut to No. 8, just like the Chiefs cut the line 1 spot in front of the Saints in 2017 to get Patrick Mahomes. I know they thought they were getting there to get in front of the Cardinals at 12, but the Chiefs got to 10 and necessarily got in front of the Saints at 11 and got Patrick Mahomes. So, it can happen to the Saints again.” Mike Florio said on ‘Pro Football Talk’ on Sunday.
Shedeur Sanders is expected to create a buzz in the upcoming NFL draft after his electric performance for the Colorado Buffaloes in his senior year. Sanders managed to throw for a total of 4,134 passing yards, scoring 37 touchdowns, while managing ten interceptions for the Buffaloes in his senior year.

Shedeur Sanders’ Colorado Junior, Julian Lewis, Shares Tribute To Kyren Lacy
Shedeur Sanders and the rest of the football world was shaken over the weekend when news of Kyren Lacy’s death broke out on Saturday night. Lacy apparently crashed his car in an apparent suicide after the cops chased him for some time.
Meanwhile, Sanders’ junior in the Colorado Buffaloes team, Julian Lewis shared a tribute to Lacy on his Instagram. Lewis shared a black-and-white picture of Kyren Lacy with three dove emojis as a tribute to the young talent who lost his life too soon. After Sanders’ departure from the Colorado Buffaloes squad, the mantle has fallen on Lewis’ shoulders. Before Colorado, Lewis played for Carrollton High School in Georgia.
