Shedeur Sanders’ prank-caller, Jax Ulbrich, couldn’t be sorrier for his actions, which has not only affected him but also his father and the whole of the Atlanta Falcons team itself. During the 2025 NFL draft, Jax Ulbrich placed a prank call to Sanders, pretending to be someone from the New England Patriots and saying that the team will pick him next.
The prank proved to be quite an expensive one for Jax Ulbrich’s father, Jeff Ulbrich, who was fined $100,000 by the NFL. The Atlanta Falcons team, with whom Jeff Ulbrich works as a defensive coordinator, was also fined $250,000. Darius Slay Jr.’s wife, Jennifer Slay, was one among many who openly criticized Jax Ulbrich for the prank which was made in poor taste.
“wowwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!! I know dad pissed at his son. dumbest call he ever made. And recorded himself doing it?” Jennifer Slay captioned her Instagram post, while sharing a graphic announcing the fines for the Atlanta Falcons as a result of the prank call.
Jax Ulbrich apparently got Shedeur Sanders’ number from his father’s unlocked iPad. He not only made the prank call but also recorded it. Both Jax and Jeff Ulbrich have personally apologized to Sanders and his family. In a recent press conference, Jeff Ulbrich once again reiterated that he deeply regrets his actions.
Shedeur Sanders’ NFL Anonymous Assessor Called Out By Travis Kelce
Shedeur Sanders faced an ocean of attacks left and right in the weeks leading up to the 2025 NFL draft by both analysts and scouts. One particular scout, who chose to remain anonymous, had a string of scathing remarks to say about Sanders which went viral.
In a recent episode of the ‘New Heights’ podcast, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce criticized the NFL scout for choosing to launch a tirade of poorly worded remarks against Sanders under the cowardly protection of anonymity.
Travis Kelce went on to admit that the NFL scout could have simply stated that Sanders and their respective team did not work too well together. However, the fact that the scout chose to target Sanders’ personality, performance and call him the ‘worst formal interview’ he has ever had, while also remaining anonymous, seems to have frustrated Kelce quite a bit.
As a result of the media painting Shedeur Sanders as ‘arrogant’ and ‘brash’, the young quarterback’s draft stock crashed. Sanders ended up being picked only in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns in the 144th spot.
