The Seattle Seahawks offensive line was inconsistent last season, ranking 24th in pressures, 27th in pressure percentage, 10th in sacks, and 25th in pass block win rate in 2023.
Guard is their weakest position on the offensive line heading into the draft, as Damien Lewis signed with the Carolina Panthers and Phil Haynes remains a free agent.
Due to limited cap space, Seattle cannot afford to sign a big-name free agent but would like to add one with starting experience on a team-friendly deal.
Seahawks’ General Manager, John Schneider, assured the media that they are not ignoring the position despite inactivity.
“Yeah, we’re working through that,” Schneider said. “We’ve had some guys in, we’ll continue to do that. We’ve had some veteran guys, guys that have started games. (You) put another veteran in that group and then hope to address things in the draft as much as we possibly can.”
The Seattle Seahawks expressed interest in a Pro Bowl offensive lineman
Seattle expressed interest in Cody Whitehair last week. Whitehair will be in his 9th year in the NFL. He spent his first eight seasons with Chicago and has played in 124 games, starting 118 with one Pro Bowl.
The Seahawks worked out with one of his teammates on Monday.

He spent the last two seasons in Chicago.

Chicago signed Patrick to a two-year, $8 million contract.
Patrick played in seven games, starting five in 2022 (two at RG, two at LG, and one at C), with zero penalties, two sacks allowed, and a 55.9 PFF Grade. He suffered a season-ending toe injury in Week 7.
Patrick played in 16 games, starting 15 at center in 2023, with 11 penalties, zero sacks allowed, and a 50.5 PFF Grade.
The Seattle Seahawks are thin at guard
The Seahawks are thin at both guard positions and have three under contract, including Tremayne Anchrum Jr, Anthony Bradford, and McClendon Curtis.
Anchrum has one start in 31 career games, Bradford has ten starts in 14 career games, and Curtis has zero starts in one career game.
Will Lucas Patrick find a new home this offseason?
