The Seattle Seahawks were able to pick up a 20-17 home win in Week 15 on Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles to keep their playoff hopes alive. However, one star player did not even report to Lumen Field as safety Jamal Adams did not make the trip to the stadium, per Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune.
More accurate: Jamal Adams *wasn't at" Lumen Field after Pete Carroll/#Seahawks decided he wasn't playing. Yet to confirm if he truly left the stadium or wasn't at it to begin with–if that matters. He was inactive & not at the yard. Pete Carroll says "he didn't need to be there" https://t.co/55AGyopTNi

This is definitely something to monitor as Jamal Adams has been involved with some controversy both on and off the field this season. Adams had a Twitter tirade against some New York media members earlier this month and also was fined $50,000 for an incident with a concussion consultant on the sidelines.
The Seattle Seahawks have a solid player in Jamal Adams when he has been healthy but the headaches may be a little too much for them for the production and money invested. So far this season, Adams has 48 total tackles (34 solo, 14 assist) with two pass deflections in nine games.
He has not had that same impact he had with the New York Jets earlier in his career as the 2017 first-round pick has been with the Seattle Seahawks for four seasons and in 34 regular season games has 9.5 sacks, two interceptions, one forced fumble and 11 pass deflections. He has been an All-Pro strong safety in 2019 and has not made the Pro Bowl since 2020.
The Seahawks have a potential out after the season, which they likely will use instead of paying $16.5 million in 2024 and $17.5 million in 2025.
Can the Seattle Seahawks make the playoffs this season?
After their Monday Night Football victory, the Seattle Seahawks have improved to 7-7 on the season and are on the outside looking in. They have identical records to both the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams but are currently the eighth seed due to tiebreakers. Below is the Seahawks remaining schedule and it is not too difficult so the chances for them to make the playoffs should be considered likely.
With their schedule, they should be able to win out and with some difficult schedules of players ahead of them, they will be in a great place to control if they can make the NFC Playoffs.
Seattle Seahawks Remaining Schedule
- Week 16: at Tennessee Titans
- Week 17: vs Pittsburgh Steelers
- Week 18: at Arizona Cardinals

Jamal Adams isn’t a Seahawks star player. He’s never been healthy enough to prove himself worthy of the title! I wish people would stop saying he’s a SEAHAWKS STAR!
It’s fascinating to see the Seattle Seahawks in this position, especially considering how they’ve performed this season. Their 7-7 record certainly keeps them in the playoff conversation, but as you’ve rightly pointed out, tiebreakers are currently keeping them as the eighth seed.
