The offensive line continues to be a problem for the Seattle Seahawks. Not only is the Seahawks’ offensive line ranked 30th in PFF’s rankings for Week 9, but also 28th in pass block win rate and 25th in run block win rate according to ESPN analytics. Finally, the O-line has done a poor job protecting Geno Smith who has been pressured 76 times (5th-most) and sacked 21 times (T-8th most) per Pro Football Reference.
The right side of the offensive line is the weakest link for the Seahawks. While injuries have decimated the right tackle position, right guard overall is relatively healthy, and they’ve had one starter for each of their first eight games. The experiment isn’t working out.
The Seattle Seahawks have a problem at RG

Anthony Bradford and Christian Haynes competed throughout training camp for the starting right guard job. The competition came down to the wire and Bradford won the job after their preseason finale. Just because he won, doesn’t mean he’s playing any better.
As previously mentioned, Anthony Bradford started each of their first eight games but has struggled and doesn’t play every snap. Bradford has surrendered 20 pressures, 15 hurries, one QB hit, four sacks allowed, and seven penalties in 80.67% of snaps. He has given up the T-4th most pressures, T-4th most hurries, and T-2nd most sacks among offensive guards (h/t PFF) while posting a 51.1 pass block, a 57.3 run block, and a 51.1 PFF grade.
The Seahawks have tried alternating Christian Haynes and giving him some reps there, but to no avail. Haynes hasn’t stood out in limited reps, surrendering four pressures, three hurries, one sack allowed, and two penalties in seven games and 19.33% of snaps. He also posts a 53.3 pass block, a 50.1 run block, and a 48.0 PFF grade.
The Seahawks plan on settling Week 9 with only one player playing.
The Seattle Seahawks announced the starter for Week 9

Mike Macdonald, when asked about the starting right guard position, told the media on Wednesday that Anthony Bradford starts at right guard for their Week 9 game against the Los Angeles Rams. Macdonald also went on to say that Christian Haynes will not rotate at right guard against the Rams, per Michael Shawn-Dugar of The Athletic.
When asked whether the right guard rotation between Anthony Bradford and Christian Haynes will continue, Mike Macdonald says that this week, “AB will start and we’ll roll with AB.”
