The Los Angeles Rams have been playing some of the best football the last 6 weeks of any team in the NFL. They are the only team to play the high flying Baltimore Ravens close in recent weeks, losing in over time, and besides for that game they have been beating everyone. They are coming off a solid win against the frisky New Orleans Saints, and the final score is much closer than the game was.
In a year that Matthew Stafford got injured for many weeks, and super star wide receiver Cooper Kupp also missed time, Head Coach Sean McVay is not being spoken about enough as a coach of the year candidate with the job he has done. McVay has been amazing this year and has made the Rams a very scary team entering the post season.
McVay has amazing help from draft picks that came way late in the draft, but that is another piece of evidence that Mcvay is one of the best offensive minded coaches we have seen. Specifically Puke Nacua, who should win rookie of the year, has been playing outstanding football, and Running back Kyren Williams has also been a real stud although he missed time as well.

Sean McVay paired with Matthew Stafford, is one of the scariest quarterback- head coach duos in the entire NFL. with the rest of the star studded offensive cast, they are a team that no one wants to face in the playoffs. Even crazier is the Los Angeles did everything they could do to get the first Super Bowl, making things very difficult for their future, and still they are playing unbelievable football and finding amazing pieces late into the draft. They got rid of many first round picks so they needed that.
The NFL is a very hard league to succeed in year in and year out, and since entering the league, head coach Sean McVay has been one of the best offensive minds the league has ever seen. This year, although there some hiccups and injuries, they are heating up at just the right time for a playoff push. Even though they will play every game on the road in the playoffs, they are still the scariest team right now in the NFC.
While Dan Campbell has done more than enough to be the head coach of the year, and if he gets the award he is highly deserving for what he has been able to do for the Detroit Lions over the last few years and how he turned them around.
While McVay probably won’t win it, he has taken home that award before and I’m sure he isn’t concerned with that at all. He must be focused on another Lombardi title rather than individual accolades. This is shaping up to be an amazing NFL playoffs and Los Angeles will have a real chance to do something special in the post season.
