The lead-up to Super Bowl LVIII has not been kind to the San Francisco 49ers. The practice field was apparently not in great shape, and the team complained to the NFL about it. This morning, the team got an early wakeup call when the fire alarm went off in the team hotel.

Fortunately, it was a false alarm. No evacuation was necessary, and the alarm was silenced after ten minutes. The alarm went off at 6 AM, leading to an early wakeup for anyone in the Hilton Lake Las Vegas. Athletes are often on a routine schedule, and this may have upset some of the player’s body clocks. The good news is the team still has a couple of days to recover from the incident.
Not The First Time
Fire alarms going off in Super Bowl team hotels is, unfortunately, not new. The New England Patriots have been accused in the past of pulling fire alarms the night before games in Foxborough. A fan was actually arrested before a 2017 playoff game. The Eagles had a 2014 incident, and the Patriots had two in one week before the Super Bowl in 2015. It is an annoying thing to happen, but ultimately, it is fortunate that nothing was actually wrong.
The San Francisco 49ers have had to overcome a lot of adversity this week. Can they take down Patrick Mahomes on Sunday in the Super Bowl?
