San Francisco 49ers fans are angry at the league after the officials missed an obvious fumble on a punt. On the play, the ball looks to touch the returner’s hand, giving the Seattle Seahawks possession of the ball. 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan challenged the call on the field, but the ruling stood, causing an uproar in the NFL world.
San Francisco 49ers Fans React
On the play, you can see the returner’s hand moving as if the ball touched him, which would have resulted in a 49ers offensive possession deep in Seattle territory. According to the announcers, the NFL replay center did not have the enhanced camera angle to look at like viewers on television. Here is the play in question:
Awful: The ball CLEARLY touched Seattle’s punt returner’s finger, yet the call was not overturned.
One of the worst missed calls I've ever seen.pic.twitter.com/95R2gN6p01

Fans say it should have been San Francisco’s ball following the play, and they took to social media to express their feelings about the questionable call.
This is the most rigged NFL game IVE EVER SEEN
Most bet on prop doesnt get rebooted because of 1 snap in the 2nd half
Refs have a clear angle of the muffed return hitting his hand, and they DONT turn it over
This shit is a disgrace @NFLOfficiating

RIGGED: The refs IGNORED the ball obviously HITTING the #Seahawks returner and San Francisco #49ers recovering.
The NFL is obviously FIXING GAMES! 🤬

Either NFL is rigged or the refs and replay people are CLOWNS. I hate the 49ers but that is unacceptable out of the NFL.#SFvsSEA #nfl #prime

Was it the Correct Call?
If the call was overturned, it would have likely resulted in points for the 49ers, which would have made the comeback for the Seahawks more improbable. Even NFL analysts were left in disbelief of the call, which should cause some major controversy throughout the week following the game despite the outcome.
Do you think that it should have been San Francisco’s ball in Seattle territory, or was it the correct call on the field?
