A few college football fanbases want their head coach gone after Week 10. Penn State fans were upset following the Nittany Lions’ 20-13 loss to Ohio State at Happy Valley on Saturday. One SEC program’s fans are fed up with their coach after a blowout loss at home.
Arkansas Football is now 5-4
Arkansas entered their Week 10 matchup with No. 19 Ole Miss as a -7.5 underdog. The Razorbacks fell to 5-4 and 3-3 in the SEC after a dismal performance in front of their home crowd at Razorback Stadium. Ole Miss outgained Arkansas in total yards 694-492. Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart threw for 515 yards and six touchdowns as Ole Miss improved to 7-2 on the season.
Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman has been a figure of mystery in college football this season. Many analysts think he could be on the hot seat after a slow start to 2024 in a conference that has high expectations for its coaches.
Pittman is now 28-29 in his fifth season as the Razorback’s head coach, and 14-26 in SEC play. Pittman had a lot to prove in the month of November to show why the Razorbacks should let him return for the 2025 season. A 63-31 loss at home to Ole Miss had many fans on social media asking for Pittman to be fired.
Fans want Sam Pittman out
“I don’t see any reason to fire a great coach who took over a horribly failing program and made us relevant,” wrote one fan. “But i do think we need a plan for 2025. I’m not sure that plan includes Sam Pittman. I think Sam has done an amazing job. he will always be a razorback.”
“Embarrassing,” posted another. “5 years in and this is what we are getting. Fire Sam Pittman!!!!!”
“Embarrassing” posted a fan. “Fire Sam Pittman this is horrible.”
“For the love of god fire Sam Pittman and hire a good replacement,” begged another.
“Out of respect for you hiring Calipari, and making other good decisions, I will give you until Monday at noon to fire Sam Pittman,” one fan directed a post toward athletic director Hunter Yurachek.
“I may not be in the fire Sam Pittman camp but I do lean heavily in the Resignation thereof camp,” posted another. “Do what’s best for the program.”
