Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers have revenge on their mind ahead of Sunday’s clash against the San Franscisco 49ers.

When the Packers welcome the 49ers into Lambeau Field, Green Bay will look to avenge the NFC Divisional Playoff loss that ended last season two victories shy of a Super Bowl appearance.

Love has the Packers in the driver’s seat for an NFC Wild Card berth, while the 49ers have struggled this season while battling through myriad injuries, San Francisco currently finds itself well on the outside looking in at the NFC Playoff picture.

Still, Love suggests that Sunday’s game means a bit more.

“I think just ending the season, getting into the playoffs and being knocked out by the 49ers — whoever it would have been — that game is definitely going to sit with you,” Love said Wednesday, via ESPN. “That’s what you’ve got to kind of just sit with all offseason, is going back, watching that game, trying to see what you could have done better, could have done differently in that game.

“It definitely sits with you through the offseason, and then you obviously move on. Just knowing that that’s the team that knocked us out, we’re definitely hungry for this game.”

In just his second season as the Packers’ starter, Love continues to make strides both as a passer as well as in clutch situations, including leading Green Bay to a comeback victory over the Chicago Bears last weekend.

Obviously, if Love can replicate that success and build on it Sunday against the 49ers, it will go a long way towards Green Bay making a return trip to the postseason while all but extinguishing San Francisco’s playoff hopes.
