Rob Gronkowski, former New England Patriots tight end, recently dropped a hot take on who he thinks is the greatest football player of all time. ‘Gronk’, who played extensively with legendary football player, Tom Brady, spoke extensively about his opinions on Patrick Mahomes vs. Tom Brady in the G.O.A.T. debate.
Many NFL fans have been debating between Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady as to who is the greatest footballer. Mahomes is leading the Kansas City Chiefs to their third straight Super Bowl after defeating the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game. Tom Brady has seven championship rings, and although he has retired from the sport, is still considered to be the best in the NFL.
“I’m going to be a little biased because I played with Tom Brady, and I think he’s the greatest player of all time, and he’s proven that he is the greatest player of all time. In order for Patrick Mahomes to enter that era, I mean, first off, he’s got to win this Super Bowl coming up and get the three-peat and I believe that’s probably one of the best dynasties in the last decade. But we had the dynasty for two decades.” Rob Gronkowski said on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’.
“Is he better than Tom Brady? Tom Brady beat him in the playoffs, and is undefeated versus him. We beat him in the AFC Championship game. And the Super Bowl, when we were in Tampa.” Gronkowski continued.
Rob Gronkowski was the 42nd pick of the 2nd round of the 2010 NFL Draft and was selected by the New England Patriots, whom he played for from 2010 to 2018. Gronkowski then moved to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played from 2020 to 2021 before retiring from the sport. During his college days, ‘Gronk’ played for the Arizona Wildcats from 2007 to 2009.
Rob Gronkowski Predicts Kansas City Chiefs To Win Super Bowl
Meanwhile, Rob Gronkowski also ruffled some feathers by making a bold prediction that the Kansas City Chiefs will be winning the Super Bowl on February 9th against the Philadelphia Eagles. Gronkowski also predicted the final score of the game, calling 28-24 for the Chiefs.
In justifying his statement about the Super Bowl, ‘Gronk’ went on to say that he believes that Patrick Mahomes is “just built for these moments”. In the 2024 NFL season, Mahomes passed for a total of 3,928 yards, scoring 26 touchdowns along with 11 interceptions, and has led the Chiefs since 2017.
