The Dallas Cowboys are the talk of the town after falling to the Green Bay Packers during Super Bowl Wild Card Weekend. Entering Sunday as more than a touchdown favorite, Dallas fell flat at home against the Green Bay Packers, trailing 27-0 in the first half. The Cowboys eventually lost 48-32, an embarrassing showing by the NFC East champions. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw two back-breaking interceptions in the first half, one resulting in a pick-six by safety Darnell Savage.
Most believe the loss will spell the end of head coach Mike McCarthy’s tenure with the club. Many suggest former New England Patriots head coach and NFL legend Bill Belichick as McCarthy’s successor. Still, one NFL analyst believes the next Dallas bench boss currently resides in the college ranks. Former Washington Redskins quarterback and ESPN personality Robert Griffin III wants Jerry Jones to hire Colorado Buffaloes frontman Deion Sanders as the next leader of his storied franchise.

Robert Griffin III: Wants Deion Sanders to Become Head Coach of Dallas Cowboys
Griffin took to his Twitter (also known as X) page, saying, “It’s been 28 years since you won a Super Bowl. You’ve had 12 consecutive playoff appearances without advancing to a conference championship game, the longest in NFL history. A lot of people are saying you should go get Bill Belichick as your next head coach because we all know Mike McCarthy’s stuff was packed before this game was over. His office? Empty. He gone. But I know who you need. You need Coach Prime. Deion Sanders, Coach Prime.
He continued, “Coach Prime knows how to win Dallas. He knows what it takes to have a championship mindset. He knows how to hold his guys accountable and is a culture changer. Look at what he did at Jackson State, going 27-6. He completely changed the culture at that HBCU. Then he goes to Colorado, and he changes the mindset there. It’s not just that. Coach Prime is also going to bring you your quarterback of the future. Sheduer Sanders.”
RGIII thinks the Cowboys can still win with Dak Prescott at the helm, but if given the opportunity, the older Sanders would draft his son. Deion Sanders led Jackson State to back-to-back double-digit winning seasons before darting for the Colorado Buffaloes job for the 2023 campaign. Sanders and the Buffaloes went 4-8, a three-win improvement from last year’s rendition of the program. Griffin believes that Sanders would lead the Cowboys to the Lombardi Trophy with Prescott or his son at quarterback. Sanders won two Super Bowls as a player, including one with the Cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys: Destroyed on Sunday
The Cowboys failed to beat the seventh-seeded Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love shined in his postseason debut, going 16 of 21 for 272 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Aaron Jones scampered for 118 yards and three scores, while wideout Romeo Doubs caught six passes for 151 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Prescott threw 60 times for 403 yards and three scores. However, his two picks proved costly, with the Packers scoring 14 points off those mistakes.
