Matthew Stafford, quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, will be definitely returning to the team for another season as revealed by Ian Rapoport from the NFL Network. The Los Angeles Rams did quite well in the 2024 NFL season, even if they did not make it to the NFC Championship game. With Stafford as quarterback, the Rams finished first in the NFC West with ten wins and seven defeats.
The Rams were shown the way out of the Super Bowl after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round with a final score of 28-22. In that game, quarterback Matthew Stafford went for 324 yards, completing 26 passes out of 44 attempts, scoring twice. Meanwhile, Kyren Williams led the team in rushing with 19 carries for 106 yards, while Puka Nacua defended with six receptions for 97 yards.
“My understanding is Matthew Stafford does, in fact, plan to play next season,” Rapoport said. “This is essentially what he sort of communicated to the Rams. Wanted to take some time off and basically told them, ‘I feel good, I don’t see why I wouldn’t play.’ My understanding, again, plans to play. That is not exactly the whole story for the Rams because he’s due $27 million next year, not guaranteed on his contract. I have a hard time imagining Matthew Stafford plays for that.” Ian Rapoport reported through his X account.

Mathew Stafford was the 1st pick in the 1st round of the 2009 NFL Draft and was selected by the Detroit Lions. Stafford played for the Lions from 2009 to 2020 and then moved to the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. The 36-year-old quarterback played college football for Georgia from 2006 to 2008.
Matthew Stafford’s Wife Kelly Rooting For Chiefs To Win
Meanwhile, Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly, recently shared that she was hoping for the Kansas City Chiefs to win in the Super Bowl. However, her reasons for it are quite unique. On Tuesday’s episode of ‘The Morning After’ podcast, Kelly went on to say how much she appreciates Kansas City’s head coach, Andy Reid. Her love for Reid is the main reason why she is backing the Chiefs to win on February 9th.
At the same time, Kelly also commented that she, like everyone else, is tired of seeing the Kansas City Chiefs win all the time and wanted to see a new winner. Kelly has quite a personal relationship with Andy Reid, especially since her brother, Chad Hall played under the coach for several seasons.
