To start week 15 of the season we have a pivotal NFC West rivalry matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers. The Los Angeles Rams are still very much alive in the playoff race after a big win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 14, they’re looking to keep the momentum going. It’s been a rollercoaster year for the San Francisco 49ers, with some tough losses, including a couple of recent blowouts to top teams like the Packers and Bills. Then they bounce right back with a dominant win over the Bears, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams did not start the season hot but ever since both star receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp have been able to stay healthy, the Rams have looked like serious contenders. Mathew Stafford has thrown for 3,303 passing yards which is the 5th most in the league. Kyren Williams has continued to impact the run game and has 1013 rushing yards which is the 5th most in the league. However, the defense has struggled to do their part, giving up 366.1 yards per game and have also given up 25.5 points per game. Los Angeles is heading into Week 15 with a solid 7-6 record and they’re in the mix for a playoff spot as they’re still alive in the NFC West race.

Los Angeles Trends

Rams are 6-2 in their last eight games.

Rams are 2-1 in division games.

Rams are 3-3 in away games.

Rams are 6-7 against the spread.

The total points have gone OVER in 7 of the 13 games played.

Kyren Williams has gone OVER 50+ total yards in all 13 games.

San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers is in a tough spot with a 6-7 record due to all of the injuries they’ve had to deal with. Their season has been inconsistent, with a mix of strong performances and frustrating losses to high-caliber teams, while their defense remains one of the league’s best. The defense has only allowed the leagues 3rd fewest 298.5 yards per game. The problem has been their defense in the redzone, with an opponent redzone scoring percentage of roughly 72.1% (TDs only). On the offensive side of the ball, the consistency has been a major issue, especially when trying to compete against the top defenses. To make things worse, both Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason are out which leaves Isaac Guerendo in at running back. Guerendo is now dealing with a foot injury, has been limited in practice and is listed as questionable. Coming off of a huge win over Chicago, the 49ers continue to face a crucial stretch of must win games to keep their post season hopes alive.

San Francisco Trends

49ers are 4-4 in their last eight games.

49ers are 1-3 in division games.

49ers are 4-3 in home games.

49ers are 5-8 against the spread.

The total points have gone OVER in 7 of the 13 games played.

Brock Purdy has thrown OVER 200+ passing yards in 10 of 12 games.

George Kittle has gone OVER 40+ receiving yards in 10 of 11 games.

Predictions and Bets

Even though San Francisco is coming off of dominate performance against the Bears, Chicago had just fired their head coach. Rookie Running back Isaac Guerendo sprained his foot and has missed practice this week. He had an impactful 78 rushing yards, 50 yards receiving and 2 TDs. With him now being questionable and the 49ers not getting the key returns they’d hoped for, I don’t see them keeping up with the Rams offense. I think Rams will kick their division rivals out of playoff contention and continue their momentum into the end of the regular season.
