Ravens Pegged To Pull Off Big Trade With Giants After Nightmare 0-2 Start (Report)

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the season so far has been the Baltimore Ravens starting the season 0-2. Back to back losses to the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders has put Baltimore in an unfamiliar hole.  Many expected the Ravens to once again be one of the top teams in the AFC.

It is still early in the season, but Baltimore is little room for error moving forward.  One trade with the New York Giants could help fix a big problem.

According to the Scouting Department at Bleacher Report:

A one-touchdown loss to the defending Super Bowl champions in Week 1 wasn’t a cause for concern. But the Ravens took a step toward full-on panic mode with a 26-23 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Baltimore had a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter and couldn’t hold on to it.

The offensive line struggled to protect Lamar Jackson, which isn’t surprising given that the group is breaking in three new starters. The defense was also a disappointment, and it’s fair to wonder if it will take a while to deal with the loss of three high-level coaches from this offseason.

Add Now: Edge Azeez Ojulari, New York Giants (trade)

The Ravens might have to make a bold move to help out their pass rush if they want to achieve their goals this season. The group was already shallow going into the season before Kyle Van Noy fractured his orbital bone and Adisa Isaac popped up on the injury report this week.

Trading for Azeez Ojulari, who is in a contract year for a rebuilding Giants team, could give them another young pass-rusher with upside to chase quarterbacks.

Baltimore has thrived with an elite defense for years. To see them give up 27 and 26 points in the first two games of the season is surprising.  Getting more pressure on the quarterback needs to be at the top of their list.   Here is a look at Ojulari’s career stats:
