Purdue Boilermakers OLB Nic Scourton Enters The Transfer Portal
Scourton was named second-team All-Big Ten after recording 10 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, 50 tackles, and 28 quarterback hurries this season in 11 games. He was a huge disruptor on defense as well as a team captain. Unless he has a change of heart, the Boilermakers will have a huge hole on defense to replace. Scourton should see a lot of interest in the portal as a player who can disrupt the quarterback is always something teams are looking for.
2024 Season Outlook
It doesn’t get any easier for Purdue in 2024. With new teams joining the Big Ten, their schedule has a lot of tough matchups. A non-conference matchup with Notre Dame looms early in the season. Then that is followed up by games against Wisconsin, Oregon, Ohio State, and Penn State. This is on top of games against an improving Nebraska team and a frisky Illinois team. They will have to have some other players step up if they are going to compete in the conference.
Can the Purdue Boilermakers survive in the new Big Ten? The good news is that they are now in one of the premier conferences in college football.
