The Miami Dolphins had a morning to remember. That is because star WR Tyreek Hill went viral by getting arrested just hours prior to the Dolphins’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now, the Miami-Dade Police Department is speaking out about the incident. Read below to find out what they had to say.
Miami-Dade Police Make Statement on Tyreek Hill’s Arrest
Just hours after Tyreek Hill’s arrest, the Miami-Dade Police Department released a statement regarding this arrest. The following statement was made by the department’s director, Stephanie V. Daniels:
“We are aware of the recent detainment of Miami Dolphins player Tyreek Hill by Miami-Dade Police Department officers. I have requested an immediate review of all details surrounding the incident, and we are also reviewing available body camera footage. We will provide updates as further information becomes available.”
Tyreek Hill Arrest Details
Believe it or not, Tyreek Hill was arrested on his way to Hard Rock Stadium for the Dolphins game. In fact, he was apparently just one block away from the stadium when he got arrested.
So, why did the police department decide to arrest Hill? Well, earlier reports claimed that Hill was being charged with reckless driving and that he originally got pulled over because he was speeding. It certainly caused a big scene and a lot of discussion about the incident on social media before kickoff, to say the least.
Miami Dolphins Moving Forward
The Dolphins had to focus on the task at hand, which was getting ready for their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fortunately, they did not have to do this without Tyreek Hill. He was able to make it back in time for kickoff and is already making an impact on the field.
For now, the Dolphins will focus on getting their first win of the season. We will wait for more information to come out about this incident.
