With the Minnesota Vikings out of the Aaron Rodgers’ sweepstakes, the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers appear to be the only options to sign the four-time NFL MVP.

The Giants signed veteran quarterback  Jameis Winston and are reportedly still in the mix for Russell Wilson. While the Giants have an interest in signing Rodgers, that scenario is “unlikely” for New York at this point.

The signs are pointing to the Steelers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a “safe bet”

Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Rodgers is a “safe bet” to eventually sign with the Steelers.

“As one source in the general vicinity of those who would be in position to know said Sunday, it’s a “safe bet” that quarterback Aaron Rodgers eventually will sign with the Steelers,” Florio wrote. “Rodgers, if you haven’t heard, spent more than six hours visiting the Steelers on Friday.”

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network suggested last week Rodgers could wait until the week of the 2025 NFL Draft (starts April 24) to officially make his decision, as he does not need to rush his choice before then.

Is Aaron Rodgers waiting to announce on April 9?

Florio thinks the announcement will come sooner than the draft.

“It remains to be seen when the announcement will be made,” Florio wrote. “If only there were an event coming up next month in Pittsburgh featuring the guy whose show Rodgers appears on every Tuesday during football season. Oh, wait. There is.”

Florio linked to Ticketmaster for the event “Big Night Out with Pat McAfee and Friends” at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. The event is scheduled for April 9.
