After a couple trades and free agency, The Pittsburgh Steelers have moved around their 2024 NFL draft picks. Pittsburgh currently holds seven picks in the first six rounds, here is what the incoming rookie class could look like for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Using NFL mock draft databases mock simulator.
Pittsburgh Steelers Mock Draft
#20: Jackson Powers-Johnson (OL – Oregon)
After cutting C Mason Cole, Pittsburgh is left with a massive hole at center. Powers Johnson is regarded as the top interior offensive lineman in the 2024 NFL draft. During his career in Oregon, he did not see a ton of playing time, but looked great when he did. He measured into the combine at 6’3 330lbs, after his incredible senior bowl where he proved he could play center or guard. Getting Powers-Johnson in the first round, would be perfect for the Pittsburgh Steelers and he would be a day one starter for the Steeler at center.
#52: Mike Sainristil (CB – Michigan)
During the 2023 season Chandor Sulivan played slot corner or nickel for the Steelers. Sulivan left in free agency leaving a hole at the position. Mike Sainristil was a hard-hitting, high-flying player for the Wolverines. Sainristil fits the Pittsburgh Steelers defense and could finally be the Mike Hilton replacement. It seems Sainristil will go sometime during the Second round, if he falls to the Steelers, they should be running to the podium with the pick.
#84: Roger Rosengarten (OT – Washington)
With Broderick Jones looking to be a future star for the Steelers offensive line, adding another tackle would be huge to solidify their offensive line. Jones was a left tackle coming out of the draft but played mainly right tackle during his rookie year. Adding Rosengarten would let Jones go back to left tackle, while Rosengarten could hopefully beat Dan Moore JR out for the starting spot. Rosengarten has started for the past two year for the huskies and gave up zero sacks in 2023. He has been getting some buzz as of late and could go earlier than this, but this should be a great pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round.
#98: Jallen McMillan (WR – Washington)
When Dionte Johnson was traded it left a gap at the second wide receiver spot on the Pittsburgh Steelers roster. It seems that the Steelers are trying to bring in a free agent to fill that role, with guys like Tyler Boyd or Mike Williams. Along with the addition of Van Jefferson to be a deep threat, and Calvin Austin as a gadget player. The Steelers still seem like they are lacking that compliment to George Pickens. Mcmillan served as the second wide receiver for the huskies but suffered some injuries in 2023 which is dropping his draft stock. Getting a potential wide receiver two or three in the late third round would be a steal for Pittsburgh.
#119: Kalen King (S – Penn State)
Almost nobody has had a worse offseason as Kalen King. After his 2023 season king was projected to be a fringe first rounder. After a bad senior bowl and combine he is now a projected fourth rounder. King played corner in college but seems like he would be a better fit to move to safety. Pairing King back up Joey Porter Jr, could help King, and with little safety depth, king could be a nice rotational piece for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
#178: Trevin Wallace (LB – Kentucky)
Pittsburgh made a huge signing this offseason by adding LB Patrick Queen. The Steelers have not had a top tier Linebacker since Ryan Shazier. This gives Pittsburgh good depth, but not as much youth at linebacker. Wallace is an underrated prospect and would be a nice addition to add some youth and potential to the Steeler linebacking core.
#195: Joe Milton (QB – Tennessee)
With their final pick in the 2024 NFL draft the Steelers add their third QB. With new additions of Russel Wilson and Justin Feilds, the Pittsburgh Steelers have rebuilt their quarterback room, adding a young player like Milton would be a great QB3 for Pittsburgh. Milton has one of the strongest arms the NFL has ever seen but seems to struggle to read the defense. Sitting behind Wilson and Feilds could be good for Milton to learn.
