The Philadelphia Eagles’ Pro Bowl center, Cam Jurgens, injured his back against the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round. He did not practice until Friday leading up to the NFC Championship Game and was active but in an emergency role. However, he played a significant role in the second half after Landon Dickerson suffered a knee injury earlier in the game. Jurgens took over at center and played 27 snaps in the second half before he was pulled since the game was out of reach.

Cam Jurgens participated in practice as a full participant leading up to the Super Bowl and did not have an official injury status entering the Big Game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He got the start and played 67 out of 74 snaps before the Eagles pulled him since the game was out of reach. Jurgens playing against the Commanders and Chiefs is a testament to his toughness, not only him but offensive linemen in general. Many offensive linemen battle and play through injuries that are a lot more severe than initially thought.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Cam Jurgens underwent a back procedure on Tuesday in Los Angeles, performed by Dr. Robert Watkins to alleviate the nerve pain. As Schefter points out, Jurgens is expected to make a full recovery by July. The Pro Bowl center is expected to be ready by the start of training camp.
