The Philadelphia Eagles were looking like they were going to walk back to the Super Bowl again this year, starting the year 10-1. Then they ran into the San Francisco 49ers and have been falling fast ever since that loss.
As they have been looking terrible throughout the last month, there has been a lot of negative media to come out on the team. It seems like the locker room may be falling a part just a bit, and many reports have come out about head coach Nick Sirianni and whether or not he has the locker room humming to his methodology.
There were reports that came out of their being a rift between the head coach and stud wide receiver AJ Brown. The receiver had to clear a few things up in his post game press conference to let everyone know that Sirianni has all of his respect and the reports are just rumors with no validity.
Philadelphia Eagles’ AJ Brown Says Sirianni Has All His Respect
AJ Brown made some major statements today to clear up all of his feelings about his head coach and try to put out the fire just a bit as the Eagles still have all of their goals in front of them. This is a team that played a very close Super Bowl last year and has looked amazing at many times this year beating many of the top teams in the league.
He was quoted in his press conference saying:
“There may be things that Nick probably wanna fix about himself. Loyalty is not one of them,” Brown said, via SportsRadio WIP. “He takes (the blame) for us when it has nothing to do with him. He gets the blame, but that comes with his job. Sometimes Jalen (Hurts) does the same thing. Just like Brian (Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson), he gets the wrong end of the stick sometimes — when it be us.
He absolutely went to bat for his head coach and made sure everyone knows that the frustration in the locker room is coming from nit winning games and playing their best like they are used to, not from the play calling or any issue with the head coach.
He continued to clear things up by talking about why he was quiet earlier, saying that he only had negative things to say so he wanted to keep it to himself. He also showed his deep respect for his coach saying:
“He really came out and made himself look like a fool for us,” Brown said. “I have nothing but respect for him. Not all coaches do that. We ride with Nick. We ride with Brian (Johnson).”
It is clear that the Eagles players respect their coach and are simply frustrated because they aren’t getting the results they have been used to the past two seasons. The Eagles still have all of their goals in front of them and they will have to make quick adjustments as the playoffs is just around the corner. The Eagles face the New York Giants this week, which should probably be a win and can maybe get them going as they look to get back to the Super Bowl.
