The 49ers had another roster position to fill this week when Jeremy McNichols, a running back from their 2023 roster, signed with the Washington Commanders in free agency. The 49ers beefed up their offseason backfield roster on Wednesday.
Patrick Taylor Jr. signed with the 49ers

According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, the 49ers are set to sign Patrick Taylor Jr. to a one-year contract.
The 49ers are signing former Green Bay Packers RB Patrick Taylor Jr. to a one-year deal, per source. After facing the 49ers in the playoffs, Taylor now joins them.

Taylor scored four touchdowns with the Green Bay Packers in 2023

The Packers signed Taylor out of Memphis as an undrafted free agent before the 2020 season. He has played with the Packers for the previous four seasons and served a brief stint last season with the New England Patriots.
Taylor has appeared in 34 games for the Packers and has recorded 261 yards rushing and one touchdown in his NFL career. Taylor can help quarterback Brock Purdy in the passing game. He’s caught 14 passes for 69 yards and six touchdowns and had four touchdown receptions last season.
