Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, reminded Buffalo Bills fans of an indecent gesture on their part back in November, last year. The Kansas City Chiefs had lost to the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in NFL Week 11, and some Bills fans thought it would be smart to hang up a Kermit doll wearing Mahomes’ jersey.
After the Chiefs recently defeated the Buffalo Bills in the NFL Conference Championships, 32-29, Brittany Mahomes, called out the act. After defeating the Bills, Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl to play against the Philadelphia Eagles.
“Do we remember this, Buffalo? Absolutely disgusting… So as you go home tonight, I pray we become better people.” Brittany Mahomes captioned her Instagram story.
In the game against the Bills for the NFL Conference Championships, quarterback Patrick Mahomes attempted 26 passes and completed 18 of them for 245 yards, scoring once. In terms of rushing, Kareem Hunt covered 64 yards, completing 17 carries with a single sore, while Xavier Worthy defended the team with six receptions for 85 yards, along with a solo touchdown.
Patrick Mahomes Low Numbers Called Out By Skip Bayless
While many are out there praising Patrick Mahomes for leading his team to the third Super Bowl in a row, sports journalist Skip Bayless found reason to troll the quarterback. In a recent episode of ‘The Skip Bayless Show’, the renowned journalist and TV personality called out Mahomes for churning out very low numbers in this season.
Bayless also went on to accuse Mahomes of not playing like himself, and essentially losing all the charisma which made him the Kansas City superstar in the first place. Indeed Mahomes’ numbers for the 2024 NFL season are much lesser than 2023.
“This Mahomes, he plays shockingly boring football. This Mahomes has turned into the ultimate dink-and-dunk artist… no NFL quarterback gets rid of the ball quicker… instead of high rolling hundreds, trying to hit the casino jackpot… [he] patiently plays the dollar slots. And it’s not like he’s 40, conceding to age. Patrick Mahomes is playing like a grandpa at the ripe old age of 29.” Skip Bayless said on ‘The Skip Bayless Show’.
While Bayless’ words may sound ruthless, especially at a time when the rest of the world is celebrating Mahomes on their shoulders, they do carry plenty of truth. If Patrick Mahomes hopes to continue the superb streak he is enjoying right now, he might need to sit back and reflect on his career stats and personal performance.
