Pat McAfee was clearly not happy with Adam Schefter as seen in the most recent episode of his show. Schefter’s latest comments about the NFL expanding replay assist, and the Kansas City penalties, were not accepted easily by many football fans. McAfee also seemed to share their frustration and asked him where he got his facts.
Schefter is a renowned sports journalist and wrote for several newspapers before working as an NFL insider for ESPN since 2009. Schefter’s comments about penalties in the NFL seemed to target Patrick Mahomes, especially during the team’s latest game against the Buffalo Bills. Despite the journalist addressing the criticism directly and clearing that he only shared facts, the trolling has not ended.
“Good luck in those Twitter streets as you are being attacked viciously from this entire thing. … What facts do you present? What facts do you withhold? (That’s) always a decision. That’s journalism, baby. That’s journalism. … I always appreciate that: ‘We’re just presenting facts.’ Yeah, but which ones, though? Which ones are you withholding? Because it seems like you’re potentially building a narrative with the facts that you’re choosing. What about the ones that maybe combat (what you’re saying)? Those get suppressed. ‘We’re telling the truth.’ Which truth, though? What’s the angle? Hashtag journalism, hashtag journalistic standards, and then we get questioned about it.” Pat McAfee shared on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’.
Adam Schefter’s comments come at a time when many felt that the NFL officials have been favoring the Kansas City Chiefs a little too much this season, especially Patrick Mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs are predicted to win their Super Bowl in a row, and with comments like these, it is understandable why die-hard NFL fans like Pat McAfee are irritated.
Pat McAfee All In Support of San Francisco 49ers Hiring Brant Boyer
On another note, Pat McAfee strongly endorsed the San Francisco 49ers hiring Brant Boyer to be their special team coordinator. Interestingly, McAfee, who played for the Indianapolis Colts from 2009 to 2016, worked under Boyer who was an assistant special teams coach for the team back then.
McAfee commented on Boyer in a recent episode of his show, and even going on to call him a ‘beast’. Boyer might be exactly what the San Francisco 49ers need after the team finished fourth in the NFC West in the most recent NFL regular season, with only six wins and 11 defeats.
