New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is definitely one of the best players in NFL history, especially from his particular era of football. Indeed, very few have had the kind of arm talent and ability to take care of the football while also fitting passes into miniscule windows.
That being said, he is also one of the most polarizing players in the modern NFL. His controversial statements regarding COVID and vaccines made national headlines back in 2020 and 2021, particularly when it was revealed that his “I have been immunized” comment regarding vaccines meant he had taken ivermectin, a drug typically given to animals.
At the time, he told popular comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan that he had done his own research into the disease and medicines and felt that it was the best course of action for him, especially since he is allergic to an ingredient in the COVID vaccines.
Indeed, Rodgers has taken an immense amount of pride in doing his own research on a wide variety of topics, which is what made a recent comment he made on the Pat McAfee Show fodder for fans on social media.
New York Jets Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Says Jared Goff Is 7-0 in Games in Which He Threw Four Interceptions

On Tuesday’s edition of the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers and the hosts were discussing the Detroit Lions’ most recent win, an incredible comeback victory over the Houston Texans on Monday night. They were able to overcome five Jared Goff interceptions to win the contest on a last-second field goal, improving their record to 8-1.
On the show, Rodgers cited a post on X (formerly Twitter) that stated that Goff was undefeated in games in which he threw four interceptions:
INTERESTING 👀
This is now Jared Goff’s 7TH career game with at least 4 interceptions.
His record in those games?
6-0.
Does Goff have the Texans right where he wants them? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/Dk4uCwNc6s

On the show, Rodgers said, “Amazing stat, is this a real stat? That he’s thrown four or picks seven times and he’s won each game.”
“Yes,” McAfee said.
Rodgers then quoted his former head coach, Mike McCarthy, who was fond of saying “Stats are for losers.”
The only problem, though, is that the individual who originally posted the stat admitted that they had made it up.
New York Jets Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Gets Blasted for Falling for and Spreading Misinformation

Later on Tuesday afternoon, the original poster made a follow up post after his stat received attention from Rodgers on the show:
if you’ve ever wondered how easy it is to spread fake information
i made this stat up while laying in bed at halftime of the game😭 https://t.co/4m2NnSgyAJ pic.twitter.com/RmQKEqKPtG

A response from Pat McAfee in the comments simply reads, “Oh no.”
And it is true, a quick search of Goff’s career games reveals that he has thrown four or more interceptions just twice and he is 1-1 in those games.
Fans were quick to roast Rodgers, who is so prideful about doing his own research, in response to the post:
I can’t explain how much I love this. https://t.co/RVpNj8e2d5

I can’t be the only one who finds it hilarious that Aaron Rodgers is the guy to broadcast this on live TV right? https://t.co/wqE4OjWNQM

Aaron Rodgers spreading misinformation? No way! 🤯 https://t.co/BiWDXw7FS1

Of course, this will all be forgotten the next time Rodgers and the Jets take the field in an attempt to salvage their season. However, it is still a humorous development for a player who has taken so much pride in being right.
