“I Got A lot of Respect For Pat”: NFL Player And Pat McAfee Squash Their Beef

There is one NFL player who has been beefing with the Indianapolis Colts legend Pat McAfee. McAfee almost always has a great relationship with the Colts organization and their players, but there has been a feud going on between him and their star linebacker Zaire Franklin over the last couple of days. Now, Franklin wants to squash the issues between himself and Pat.

Franklin got on his own podcast to rant a bit about McAfee and he did not hold back at all in his frustrations with what Pat has been saying. On an episode of “The Trenches Show,” the linebacker was speaking with his teammate E.J. Speed about the way the media talks about his team and the players:

“You are on national television, and you’re screaming about changes that need to be made. Just for the next week, you scream for the opposite change to be made. Do you understand this [expletive] is written in pen? Do you understand if we did what you said the first time, you can’t just undo it and go do the opposite thing the next time?,” Franklin asked on the podcast.

“Do you understand if you fire a bunch of people, you can’t just hire them and then put this person… You can’t do that. Y’all on national television. What we say. Use your platform responsibly. Come on, gang. And pick a side. Whose team is y’all on?”

While Franklin did not mention the legendary Colts punter in his rant, his actual YouTube thumbnail for that exact episode was a picture of Pat’s face. So clearly, Franklin was taking a shot at what Pat has been saying about the Colts in recent weeks.

Pat responded to this matter on his Friday show, and he shared that he is happy if the Colts can use him as motivation:

“Zaire Franklin and E.J. Speed, two men who play on the defensive side of the ball for the Indianapolis Colts. Good ball players,” McAfee said.

“They have a podcast…and they use my picture, okay, in the thing, as if I’m the only human that was talking about all the problems that were happening in your locker room, okay? Your locker room.

The one that had people missing treatment and gambling on the team and being late to meetings and saying they don’t work hard and quarterbacks stepping out of… and I’m the problem? Okay. Okay. I think that’s a potential part of the issue with the Colts.”

Now, on Tuesday, Franklin wants to end any type of beef that he has going with McAfee, as he asked about the situation after practice. He did not double down on what he was saying on his podcast, but instead, he wanted to end any issues with the Colts legend.

“You know, I got a lot of respect for Pat,” Franklin admitted.

“I understand exactly who he is to our organization and our city, and quite frankly, I think maybe I didn’t handle it the right way going into it. Now, he said some things about me. So, you know, that is what it is, but it’s one band, one sound, man. We all a family. We all want the same thing.”

He went on to say that both he and Pat want the same thing for the Colts organization and that is for them to win and be successful. We will have to wait and see if Franklin ends up going on Pat’s show to hug it out.
