The Green Bay Packers pulled off a massive Week 13 victory on Sunday Night Football over the Kansas City Chiefs to improve to 6-6 on the season. With the win, the Packers moved into the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoff picture. Unfortunately, the win came with a rough consequence as they lost No. 1 wide receiver Christian Watson to an apparent hamstring injury late in the game.
Anyone that knows Watson’s injury history knows how serious this could end up being. He has missed a ton of time due to hamstring issues already in his young career.
Over the last few weeks, Watson has finally been looking like the potential star that the Packers saw last year. He has become Jordan Love’s No. 1 target once again, but that could all come to an abrupt end for the time being if the injury turns out to be something serious.
Packers Coach Provides Concerning Injury Update On Christian Watson
On Monday following the big win, Packers’ head coach Matt LaFleur was asked about Watson’s injury. His response gives reason for major concern in Green Bay. It was short and brief.
“We don’t know yet.”
Matt LaFleur says they’ll have a better indication of where Christian Watson’s hamstring is at tomorrow.

The Packers desperately need their top wide receiver to be on the field for the stretch run. If they want to get into the playoffs, they are likely going to have to win at least four of their final five games.
Up ahead for Green Bay are some tough division rivalry matchups against the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears in the final two weeks of the season. Before that, they will take on the New York Giants in New York, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Lambeau Field, and the Carolina Panthers in Carolina. None of those games are going to be “easy” wins, although they should be able to take care of business.
So far this season in nine games played, Watson has caught 28 passes for 422 yards and five touchdowns. Those numbers are nowhere near what the expectations were saying he would produce, but injuries have been a major issue for him.
At just 24 years of age, Watson has all the makings of a star wideout for the Packers. All they can do now is hope that he can stay healthy.
Make sure to tune in next week to see if the Packers can bump their winning streak to four games when they take on the Giants in New York. You can watch the game on Monday Night Football at 8:15 p.m. EST on ESPN.
